"The Department of Psychology is one of the Department of the University, which start from 2019. The department is providing M.Sc. Psychology two-years programme with intake of 30 seats. It is located on the ground floor of UIET Block of the University. It is dedicated to dealing with not only theoretical knowledge of psychological science but also focuses on its applications in diverse fields. The vision of the department is to develop a better understanding of human behavior, mental processing, enhance sensitivity towards social issues and community, linkage between theory and its application in different fields, boost inter-disciplinary collaborations with the help of research. The course is designed to develop not only knowledge of concepts but also enhancing the skills essential for research and professional psychologists. As part of the syllabi, internship/dissertation/project work extended the outreach programs by which students are exposed to a variety of fields that not only sensitize them to mental health concerns but also sensitize the communities they work with. The Department of Psychology emphasizes training in psychosocial and behavioural skills with the purpose of generating students who are high on intrapsychic and interpersonal sensitivity."
